Temporary platform lift placed at wheelchair friendly event: the Invictus Games The Hague (NL)

Commissioned by Global Experience Specialists, we have placed a temporary platform lift at the Invictus Games. The Invictus Games is an international sports event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. It is therefore important that the whole event is wheelchair friendly. This also applies to the eye-catcher: a Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II jet. By hiring RECO, Global Experience Specialists was able to rent both a platform lift and a temporary stairs from one contractor.

Barrier-free platform lift for a wheelchair-proof event

To ensure that every visitor could take a look inside the cockpit, Global Experience Specialists was looking for a temporary lift. We installed a platform lift within one day. This lift has a maximum height of 3 metres and offers an exit at any desired height. An exit at 2.20 metres was the best height for the Invictus Games. The platform lift is completely barrier-free for wheelchair users, perfect for the Invictus Games event.

Temporary stairs for the public

In front of the cockpit, we placed temporary stairs with a platform on which the lift arrives. The steps have an anti-slip coating and we have installed a roof against the rain as a precaution. For the decoration of the temporary stairs, Lockheed Martin finished the stairs with a photo of the F-35 Lightning II.
